چکیده

We present spectroscopic and photometric observations of the Type IIP supernova, SN 2020jfo, in ultraviolet optical wavelengths. 2020jfo occurred spiral galaxy M61 (NGC 4303), with eight observed supernovae past 100 years. exhibited a short plateau lasting < 65 d, achieved maximum brightness V-band $M_V$ = -17.4 $\pm$ 0.4 mag at about 8.0 0.5 d since explosion. From bolometric light curve, we have estimated mass $^{56}$Ni synthesised explosion to be 0.033 0.006 $M_\odot$. The spectral features are typical for type supernova except shallow H$\alpha$ absorption throughout evolution presence stable $^{58}$Ni feature 7378 \r{A}, nebular phase. Using hydrodynamical modelling MESA + STELLA framework, an ejecta ~ 5 $M_\odot$ is estimated. Models also indicate could result Red Super Giant progenitor $M_{ZAMS}$ 12 Bolometric curve revealed secondary radiation source initial 20 which has been attributed interaction circumstellar material 0.2 $M_\odot$, most likely was ejected due enhanced loss years prior

An Upper Mass Limit on a Red Supergiant Progenitor for the Type II-Plateau Supernova SN 2006my

We analyze two pre-supernova (SN) and three post-SN high-resolution images of the site of the Type II-Plateau supernova SN 2006my in an effort to either detect the progenitor star or to constrain its properties. Following image registration, we find that an isolated stellar object is not detected at the location of SN 2006my in either of the two pre-SN images. In the first, an I-band image obta...

SN 2009ib: A Type II-P Supernova with an Unusually Long Plateau

We present optical and near-infrared photometry and spectroscopy of SN 2009ib, a Type II-P supernova in NGC 1559. This object has moderate brightness, similar to those of the intermediate-luminosity SNe 2008in and 2009N. Its plateau phase is unusually long, lasting for about 130 days after explosion. The spectra are similar to those of the subluminous SN 2002gd, with moderate expansion velociti...

Detection of a red supergiant progenitor star of a type II-plateau supernova.

We present the discovery of a red supergiant star that exploded as supernova 2003gd in the nearby spiral galaxy M74. The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and the Gemini Telescope imaged this galaxy 6 to 9 months before the supernova explosion, and subsequent HST images confirm the positional coincidence of the supernova with a single resolved star that is a red supergiant of 8(+4)(-2) solar masses....

SN 2004 A : Another Type II - P Supernova with a Red Supergiant Progenitor

We present a monitoring study of SN 2004A and probable discovery of a progenitor star in pre-explosion HST images. The photometric and spectroscopic monitoring of SN 2004A show that it was a normal Type II-P which was discovered in NGC 6207 about two weeks after explosion. We compare SN 2004A to the similar Type II-P SN 1999em and estimate an explosion epoch of 2004 January 6. We also calculate...
